Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in product design, particularly focusing on user-centered design principles. Your background includes a strong understanding of geospatial intelligence and how it can enhance user experiences across various platforms. You are skilled in translating complex data into intuitive designs that prioritize clarity and usability. Your expertise in design systems and interaction patterns allows you to create cohesive experiences that resonate with users. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive product strategy and roadmap decisions. You are passionate about exploring innovative ways to help users discover relevant places and services through effective design.

Desirable

Experience with cartographic principles and a keen eye for detail in visual design will set you apart. Familiarity with the latest design tools and methodologies, particularly Figma, is highly desirable. A background in working with dense, information-rich environments will be beneficial as you navigate the complexities of map design and user interaction.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design human-centered search and discovery experiences that empower users to find locations and explore Uber's offerings confidently. You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to drive the product roadmap, ensuring that design decisions align with business goals and user needs. Your work will involve translating complex geospatial data into approachable and trustworthy user experiences, applying cartographic principles to enhance clarity and legibility across various contexts. You will contribute to shared interaction patterns and design systems that are utilized across the Maps team, ensuring consistency and quality in user experiences.
