Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, focusing on capacity planning and operations — you've successfully led initiatives that optimize cloud resource allocation and manage costs effectively. Your expertise in cloud platforms like AWS and Azure allows you to forecast demand accurately and implement strategic cost-saving measures.
You possess a strong understanding of capacity demand and supply management — you've worked closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance collaboration in managing cloud infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with cloud pricing models and consumption optimization is a key asset in this role.
You are a strategic thinker who can establish relationships with key stakeholders — your ability to communicate effectively ensures alignment on infrastructure needs and resource planning. You thrive in environments where you can drive process improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
Desirable
Experience with capacity provisioning operations will be beneficial — familiarity with tools like Terraform for infrastructure as code can set you apart. A background in financial analysis related to cloud costs is a plus, as it helps in identifying savings opportunities.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead all aspects of capacity operations, both on-prem and in the cloud — your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Efficiency team to track capacity returns to vendors, ensuring that cost reduction strategies are effectively implemented. You will also be responsible for forecasting cloud resource demand and managing supply to meet organizational needs.
You will work closely with product and platform engineering teams to operationalize cloud resource allocation — your insights will help streamline internal processes and ensure that infrastructure is both cost-effective and scalable. You will drive initiatives that enhance collaboration across teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned on infrastructure needs.
As a key leader, you will refine internal workflows to improve efficiency in managing cloud infrastructure — your role will involve regular communication with stakeholders to ensure that resource planning aligns with business objectives. You will also be tasked with identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives that contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
