Job Description
Who you are
You have a solid background in software engineering with a focus on game development, particularly using Unity. Your experience includes performing upgrades and ensuring successful migration paths between different Unity versions, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of customer projects. You enjoy deep technical problem-solving and have a strong understanding of Unity's engine development and internal tooling. Your ability to work with large codebases from diverse customers and industries makes you a valuable asset to the team. You are comfortable collaborating with various stakeholders, including product development teams and consulting groups, to validate that updates do not disrupt real-world applications.
Desirable
Experience with game production and a strong understanding of the gaming industry would be beneficial. Familiarity with customer project management and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders are also advantageous.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for performing Unity project upgrades on customer games within the Production Verification collection. You will ensure that every major advancement, optimization, or feature is validated in production before it reaches the broader Unity ecosystem. Collaborating closely with product development teams, you will act as a Production Subject Matter Expert, providing insights and support to ensure that Unity's updates enhance reliability and performance. You will also engage with Unity Studio Productions and Release Engineering to address any issues that arise during the upgrade process, ensuring a smooth transition for customers.
