You have extensive experience in SDK development, particularly for Android, and have a strong understanding of system architecture — you've led projects that required coordination across multiple engineering teams and components. Your background includes a solid grasp of machine learning principles, which you apply to enhance SDK functionalities and performance. You are a trusted technical representative, capable of influencing platform-level decisions and ensuring compliance with privacy standards. You thrive in collaborative environments, where you can engage with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions.
You possess a proven track record of improving SDK stability and performance outcomes — you understand the importance of reducing application not responding (ANR) issues, crashes, and performance regressions that can impact developer trust and revenue. Your experience includes modernizing legacy systems while continuing to deliver new features and support existing integrations. You are proactive in identifying architectural improvements and engineering process enhancements to mitigate operational risks.
Desirable
Experience with advertising technology and a passion for creating impactful ad experiences would be a plus. Familiarity with data infrastructure and compliance regulations in the advertising space is also beneficial. You are comfortable navigating complex technical challenges and are eager to contribute to the evolution of advertising technology.
What you'll do
As the Staff SDK Engineer for Unity Ads, you will take ownership of the Android Ads SDK, leading its architectural evolution to support new capabilities while ensuring a seamless integration experience for developers. You will coordinate work across various engineering teams, acting as the technical decision maker for complex Android platform issues. Your role will involve reducing delivery risks and operational overhead by implementing best practices in SDK development.
You will be responsible for the stability and performance of the Android SDK, with direct accountability for minimizing ANRs, crashes, and performance regressions. Your leadership will guide the incremental modernization of a large, legacy SDK, allowing for the continuous shipment of features while maintaining support for existing integrations. You will proactively improve existing architectural structures and engineering processes, setting high-quality standards to reduce operational and stability risks.
