You have a strong background in embedded systems development, with experience in programming languages such as C. You understand the intricacies of lower-level systems and how they integrate with hardware and user interfaces. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, allowing you to debug complex issues effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with hardware vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. You are passionate about improving safety and efficiency through technology, and you are eager to contribute to impactful projects.
Desirable
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) is a plus, as is familiarity with hardware integration and prototyping. You are comfortable taking part in code reviews and defining the architecture for new features. A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies will serve you well in this role.
What you'll do
As an Embedded Software Engineer at Verkada, you will develop features for embedded platforms that include access control systems, alarms, sensors, and cameras. You will work on bare-metal and RTOS-based systems, ensuring that your code is efficient and reliable. Your role will involve debugging and solving problems, as well as conducting code reviews to maintain high standards of quality. You will define the architecture and design of new features, taking projects from inception through to deployment and customer support. Collaboration is key, as you will engage with hardware engineers, server and UI engineers, and industrial designers to create integrated solutions that enhance user experience and safety.
