Verkada is seeking an Embedded Engineering Lead to oversee the streaming team and enhance video streaming capabilities. You'll work with C and Linux, contributing to the development of an AI-powered security platform. This role requires 8+ years of experience in embedded systems.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a BS in Computer Science or a similar degree and bring over 8 years of experience working on Linux development as a Software Engineer. Your proficiency in C is complemented by familiarity with Python and Go, which are nice to have. You are passionate about embedded systems and have a strong understanding of video streaming technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy leading teams to achieve technical excellence.
Desirable
Experience with debugging and code reviews is essential, as you will be responsible for leading these processes within your team. Familiarity with development boards and the ability to experiment with new technologies will set you apart. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys pushing the boundaries of embedded engineering.
What you'll do
As the Embedded Engineering Lead, you will be at the forefront of our streaming team, responsible for all aspects of embedded development. You will lead code reviews, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the team is continuously improving. Your role will involve debugging and fixing bugs in existing code, as well as making regular contributions to the codebase to push new features over-the-air frequently. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to define specifications for future products, ensuring that our streaming capabilities remain cutting-edge and user-friendly.
You will also experiment and test with new development boards, integrating innovative solutions into our existing systems. Your leadership will guide the team in enhancing the streaming experience for our customers, focusing on both live and historical video. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our video security solutions, making a significant impact on how organizations protect their people and places.
