Verkada is seeking a Regulatory & Trade Compliance Manager to oversee trade compliance and product regulatory functions. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations. This role requires extensive experience in trade compliance and regulatory issues.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in trade compliance and product regulatory functions, with experience working alongside product and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Your expertise includes navigating complex compliance issues related to IoT hardware and software, as well as government procurement processes. You are familiar with OFAC regulations and import/export compliance issues for high-tech products, and you understand the licensing and regulatory requirements for highly regulated products such as alarms and batteries.
You thrive in environments where you can merge trade compliance with product regulatory functions, ensuring that your organization stays ahead of expanding regulatory requirements. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams allows you to tackle compliance challenges proactively and efficiently. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to interpret and apply complex regulations to various products and services.
Desirable
Experience with compliance for connected devices is a plus, as is familiarity with both domestic and international regulatory frameworks. You may also have certifications or training in compliance management or regulatory affairs, which would further enhance your qualifications for this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the trade compliance and product regulatory functions at Verkada. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that all products meet the necessary compliance standards throughout their development lifecycle. This includes conducting compliance assessments, developing compliance strategies, and providing guidance on regulatory requirements.
You will also be tasked with staying informed about changes in regulations that may impact the organization and its products. This involves monitoring industry trends, participating in relevant training, and collaborating with external regulatory bodies as needed.
