You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and are flexible and adaptive to changing priorities. Your passion for observability and reliability drives you to propose improvements that enhance system performance and user experience. You possess in-depth expertise in distributed systems and data processing, allowing you to tackle complex challenges effectively.

Your experience with AWS Cloud is extensive, touching foundational blocks like Kubernetes, Fargate, Lambda, Airflow, Athena, DynamoDB, VPC, and EC2 — you are comfortable navigating these technologies to build scalable solutions. Bonus points if you have experience with Salesforce, as it can further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and implement technical solutions that keep the internal Verkada engine running smoothly — your contributions will directly impact how the company transacts and ships products globally. You will build and deliver improvements to existing systems, ensuring they are reliable and efficient. Your focus on improving systems observability will help the team invest in the reliability and correctness of data, which is crucial for maintaining high standards of service.

You will develop customer empathy to propose meaningful improvements to systems, ensuring that the solutions you create meet user needs effectively. Leading projects from ideation to release will be a key part of your responsibilities, allowing you to take ownership of the development process and see your ideas come to fruition. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to help and mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their growth within the team.
