Waabi is hiring a Senior / Staff ML Optimization Engineer to collaborate with autonomy and algorithm engineers in scaling self-driving systems. Job Description
Who you are
You have a minimum of 6 years of industry experience in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field, and you hold an MS/PhD or Bachelor's degree. Your solid coding proficiency spans various languages, including Python, C++, and Rust, allowing you to tackle complex problems effectively. You are experienced in building standardized distributed training frameworks and have a strong understanding of model runtime and memory profiling to identify performance bottlenecks. Your familiarity with emerging technologies, particularly in the context of AI and self-driving systems, positions you as a key contributor to Waabi's mission.
Desirable
Experience with efficient CUDA kernels for training and model exporting is a plus, as is a background in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work closely with engineers from various disciplines to drive innovation in self-driving technology.
What you'll do
In this role, you will collaborate closely with autonomy and algorithm engineers to scale safe self-driving systems using an AI-first approach. You will be responsible for building standardized distributed training frameworks for both research and production, driving our training processes towards new levels of stability and efficiency. Your work will involve comprehensively profiling model runtime and memory to pinpoint performance bottlenecks, ensuring that our systems operate at peak efficiency.
You will also identify and evaluate emerging technologies that can be integrated into Waabi’s training and inference frameworks. This includes exploring efficient CUDA kernels for training, quantization techniques, and model exporting and compilation for inference. Your contributions will directly impact the commercialization of self-driving technology, making it safer and more efficient.
