Waabi is hiring a Research Scientist to develop innovative AI technologies for self-driving trucks. You'll work with algorithms related to perception, motion forecasting, and more. This role welcomes both junior and senior candidates.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a research scientist with a strong background in AI technologies, particularly in the realm of self-driving systems. You have experience leading and contributing to AI research projects, pushing the boundaries of the field by developing new algorithms for autonomy systems and simulators. Your passion for self-driving technologies drives you to solve complex problems and create innovative solutions that can impact the world positively.
You possess a solid understanding of various aspects of self-driving technology, including perception, motion forecasting, controls, and sensor simulation. You are comfortable working on diverse problems and have a proven track record of mentoring junior researchers or engineers. Your technical skills include proficiency in programming languages such as PyTorch, Rust, C++, and CUDA, which you have utilized in shipping machine learning features into production.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and contribute to AI research projects that are critical to Waabi's mission of developing fully driverless autonomous trucks. You will be responsible for inventing new AI technologies and algorithms that enhance the capabilities of our autonomy system and high-fidelity simulator, Waabi World. You will collaborate with a world-class team to tackle challenging problems related to self-driving technology, ensuring that our solutions are both innovative and safe.
You will engage in developing algorithms for various applications, including behavior modeling, mapping, localization, and intelligent data mining and analysis. Your contributions will directly influence the development of our self-driving technology, and you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that are at the forefront of AI research. You will also play a key role in fostering a collaborative environment, helping to mentor and guide junior team members as they grow in their careers.
