Who you are

You have 5+ years of industry experience developing production-quality software, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can contribute to a common codebase. Your educational background includes a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field, and you possess a strong ability to learn new technologies quickly. You are comfortable leading technical discussions and mentoring other engineers through code reviews and design reviews, sharing your expertise in software development best practices.

Your experience includes working with languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Rust, and you have a solid understanding of application development, distributed systems, and data storage and processing. You are familiar with parallel computing environments and have a keen interest in software performance, optimization, and profiling. Your knowledge extends to concurrency and determinism, as well as test-driven and API-driven development methodologies.

Desirable

Experience with system design and architecture, algorithms, and data structure design is a plus. Familiarity with low-level threading and front-end development tools will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer at Waabi, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers focused on enabling safe self-driving technology at scale. You will build reliable and scalable tools and frameworks that support Autonomous Vehicle (AV) development, ensuring that the technology is robust and efficient. Your role will involve leading technical and architectural discussions, collaborating closely with both researchers and engineers to drive innovation.

You will mentor other software engineers, providing guidance through code reviews and technical design reviews, and sharing your knowledge of software development best practices. Additionally, you will assist in task planning and estimation, helping to shape the direction of projects and ensuring that the team meets its goals effectively.
