You have a strong background in backend engineering, with experience in building and deploying production systems that handle complex challenges. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to develop robust solutions that enhance the performance of autonomous driving technology. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can prototype solutions that are both safe and reliable. Desirable

What you'll do
In this role, you will collaborate with various teams to support self-driving vehicles in complex situations, ensuring that the Waymo Driver operates safely and efficiently. You will prototype and deploy solutions that address real-world challenges, working closely with the Fleet Response Operations team to enhance their capabilities. Your work will involve developing mission-critical systems that require a deep understanding of both on-vehicle and off-vehicle resources. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service for riders, leveraging your technical skills to improve the overall performance of the Waymo Driver.
You will also engage in continuous learning and development, staying updated on the latest advancements in autonomous driving technology. Your contributions will directly impact the safe deployment of Waymo's technology, making a difference in the lives of riders and the broader community.
