Who you are

You have a strong background in machine learning and software engineering, with a focus on developing efficient algorithms and models. Your experience includes working with large datasets and optimizing model performance for real-world applications. You are proficient in Python and have hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. You understand the principles of reinforcement learning and have applied them in practical scenarios. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems in autonomous driving technology. You are passionate about improving the efficiency of machine learning models and have a keen interest in the latest advancements in AI.

Desirable

Experience with generative modeling and Bayesian inference is a plus. Familiarity with hierarchical learning and robust evaluation techniques will set you apart. You have a track record of contributing to research projects and collaborating with other teams to drive innovation in machine learning applications.

What you'll do

In this role, you will enable the team to develop large-scale end-to-end driving models with a focus on hardware efficiency. You will participate in model design from a hardware-efficiency perspective, ensuring that the models are optimized for performance and reliability. You will collaborate with other research teams within Alphabet to foster innovation and share insights. Your work will directly contribute to the mission of safely operating Waymo vehicles in various driving conditions across multiple cities. You will also engage in the evaluation of model performance and implement improvements based on findings. Your contributions will help shape the future of autonomous driving technology and enhance the overall user experience.

What we offer

Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
