What you'll do

In this role, you will play a critical part in defining the technical direction of the Discovery Platform. You will design and implement a world-class scalable system that powers feed, browse, search, and taxonomy systems. Your work will directly impact the user experience on Whatnot's live shopping platform, ensuring that users can easily discover and engage with products. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to integrate retrieval and ranking systems using machine learning.

You will also be responsible for making architectural decisions that support the platform's growth and scalability. This includes optimizing search algorithms and ensuring that the system can handle increasing traffic as Whatnot continues to expand. You will participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
