Overview
Wildtype is hiring a Bioprocess Technician to operate and maintain cell culture bioreactors and perform harvest operations. This role is based in San Francisco and offers a compensation of $35—$38 per hour.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a motivated individual eager to contribute to the innovative field of cellular agriculture. You have a keen interest in bioprocessing and are ready to operate and maintain cell culture bioreactors. Your attention to detail ensures that you perform equipment cleaning and sterilization effectively, adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMP).
You thrive in a hands-on environment where you can expand cell cultures under aseptic conditions. You understand the importance of maintaining cultures and are committed to following established protocols. Your ability to acquire and analyze data independently will be crucial in this role, as you will be responsible for recording all experimental data accurately.
What you'll do
In this role, you will operate and maintain cell culture bioreactors, ensuring optimal conditions for cell growth. You will perform harvest operations and carry out routine maintenance and calibration of process equipment. Your responsibilities will include thawing cell banks and expanding cell cultures while adhering to GMP standards. You will also prepare batch production records and standard operating procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency of the production process.
You will be expected to perform equipment cleaning and sterilization, including manual cleaning and clean in place (CIP) procedures. Pressure tests (PT) will also be part of your routine tasks, ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly. Your role will be critical in supporting the mission of Wildtype to create sustainable seafood alternatives.
