Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in backend development, and you are comfortable working with both backend and full stack technologies. You have a strong understanding of building scalable systems and are passionate about automation and improving workflows for users.

Your expertise includes proficiency in JavaScript and Python, and you have experience with REST APIs and cloud services like AWS. You are familiar with containerization technologies such as Docker, which you have used to streamline development and deployment processes.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You have a keen interest in AI and automation, and you are excited about the potential of these technologies to transform workflows.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD practices and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with Agile methodologies. You are also encouraged to bring any experience you have with advanced automation tools or frameworks that can enhance the capabilities of Zapier's platform.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the core engine that powers Zapier's automation platform. You will work closely with product managers and designers to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements. Your focus will be on building intuitive and resilient systems that enable advanced user workflows.

You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment. You will also be involved in debugging and optimizing existing systems to ensure they meet the growing demands of our users, particularly in enterprise settings.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with various teams to enhance the product experience and execution engine behind creating, running, and debugging workflows.
