You'll collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams, leveraging your security expertise. This role requires strong communication skills and a deep understanding of security practices.
Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in security, ideally with a focus on technical advisory roles — you understand the complexities of security requirements and can communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your background includes working closely with sales and customer success teams, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into the sales process. You are adept at building relationships with customers and their security teams, acting as a bridge to ensure alignment between their needs and your organization's capabilities.
You possess a strong understanding of security practices and governance features — you are familiar with compliance frameworks and can guide teams in implementing best practices. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to articulate complex security concepts in a way that is accessible to various audiences. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to enhance security measures.
You are proactive in staying updated on the latest security trends and threats — you understand the importance of continuous learning in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity. You are passionate about building customer trust through transparency and effective communication, ensuring that security is a priority in all aspects of the business.
Desirable
Experience with cloud security, particularly in AWS environments, is a plus. Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2 will set you apart. You have a knack for problem-solving and can think critically about security challenges, providing innovative solutions that align with business objectives.
What you'll do
In this role, you will partner closely with the go-to-market (GTM) teams, including sales and customer success, to address complex security requirements from prospects and customers. You will act as a strategic security advisor, guiding teams on how to effectively communicate Zapier's security capabilities to build trust with customers. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that security considerations are integrated into the sales cycle, helping to alleviate customer concerns and foster confidence in Zapier's offerings.
You will build a deep understanding of Zapier's internal security practices and governance features, enabling you to provide informed guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Collaborating with product and engineering teams, you will ensure that customer security requirements are met and that Zapier's security posture is continuously improved. You will also play a key role in developing training materials and resources to educate teams on security best practices and compliance requirements.
Your responsibilities will include conducting security assessments, participating in customer meetings to address security inquiries, and providing feedback on product features from a security perspective. You will help shape Zapier's security strategy, ensuring that it aligns with business goals while maintaining a strong focus on customer trust and satisfaction.
What we offer
Zapier offers a fully remote work environment, allowing you to work from anywhere in North America. We prioritize a culture of inclusivity and collaboration, where your contributions are valued and recognized. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team dedicated to democratizing automation while ensuring the security and privacy of our users. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective could be just what we need to enhance our security practices.
