What you'll do

As a Data Engineer Intern at Zoox, you will be assigned to one of several teams where you will gain hands-on experience in building data pipelines and infrastructure. On the Autonomy Software V&V team, you will develop ETL pipelines for processing vehicle logs and create data platforms for metrics computation using tools like Databricks, Spark, and Ray. You will also build visualization dashboards using Looker and Grafana to help stakeholders understand complex data sets.

In addition to working on data pipelines, you will manage run metadata and pipeline processing to ensure data scientists and engineers can efficiently access and analyze petabytes of autonomous driving data. You will also have the opportunity to work with the Content team, where you will build and maintain pipelines that transform data at scale to support analytics throughout the company. This role will involve designing and building data models for key business domains such as autonomy, riders and fleet, and simulation.

Throughout your internship, you will receive mentorship from experienced professionals in the industry, allowing you to grow your skills and knowledge in data engineering. You will be encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, and actively participate in team discussions to enhance your learning experience.
