Zoox is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to develop software tools for safety-critical systems. You'll work with Java, JavaScript, and Python to automate processes and ensure high safety standards. This position requires significant experience in software development.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in full stack development, where you've designed and implemented complex systems that prioritize safety and reliability. Your background includes working with safety-critical software, and you understand the nuances of developing tools that meet high safety standards. You are proficient in multiple programming languages, including Java, JavaScript, and Python, and have experience with both frontend and backend technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you enjoy tackling challenges that require innovative thinking and technical expertise.

Desirable

Experience in the automotive or avionics industries is a plus, as is familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and middleware components. You are comfortable with agile methodologies and have a strong understanding of software development processes. You are also keen on learning new technologies and adapting to evolving industry standards.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of the Software Systems Infrastructure team, where your primary responsibility will be to design and develop software tools that automate, track, and audit processes essential for building safety-critical software. You will collaborate with software, systems, and firmware engineers across the organization, ensuring that all internal tooling meets the high safety bar required for production vehicles. Your work will involve establishing infrastructure that supports the development processes and contributes to the overall safety and reliability of the software systems. You will also engage in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices within the team.
