Who you are
You have a strong background in software engineering, particularly with C++, and are experienced in developing and optimizing multi-threaded applications. You understand the complexities of managing data at scale and have a passion for working with large datasets. Your ability to analyze and interpret data will be crucial in identifying interesting driving data on-robot, ensuring that critical business data is accessible while minimizing turnaround time.
You are a collaborative team player who enjoys interfacing with various software teams to promote the adoption of new data frameworks. Your experience working with cross-functional teams, including autonomy, hardware, safety, legal, and homologation experts, has equipped you with the skills to ensure that systems are dependable and compliant at all levels of the data stack.
What you'll do
As a Software Core Data engineer at Zoox, you will be responsible for optimizing C++ code that processes millions of messages each minute. You will develop and scale software frameworks that efficiently identify the most interesting driving data on-robot. Your role will involve working closely with other on-vehicle software teams to ensure the successful integration and adoption of these frameworks.
You will analyze petabytes of data to derive insights that will inform business decisions and improve system performance. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of data handling and the overall functionality of the robotic systems. You will also be involved in ensuring that the systems you develop are compliant with safety and legal standards, collaborating with various experts to achieve this.
