What you'll do
In this internship, you will be matched with one of several teams focused on enhancing motion planning capabilities. On the Collision Avoidance Systems team, you will build and optimize core autonomy software, including planning algorithms and collision avoidance systems. You will implement efficient data structures for tree search and develop cost evaluation functions, ensuring the safety and reliability of the systems you work on.
If you join the Fail Operational Planner team, your focus will be on developing behavioral and motion planning capabilities in degraded states. You will explore ways to improve trip progress metrics and enhance the customer experience by creating algorithms that address specific failure modes.
On the Framework & Search team, you will work on improving the planner's strategic decision-making capabilities. This involves modeling long horizon concerns and developing algorithms that enhance the fidelity of long horizon motion planning models. Throughout your internship, you will collaborate with experts across various disciplines, gaining valuable insights and experience in the field of motion planning.
