You have a strong background in systems engineering, particularly in safety-critical systems, and have experience working on complex projects that require collaboration across multiple disciplines. You understand the importance of safety in autonomous systems and have a proven track record of developing safety cases and fail-operational designs. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, feature, operations, vehicle engineering, software, and legal, is essential for success in this role.

What you'll do
As a Systems Engineer at Zoox, you will play a crucial role in the System Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team, responsible for constructing the safety case for our autonomous driving robots. You will collaborate with various teams to design, develop, and deploy systems that support safe autonomous driving. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that these systems are developed within a rigorous safety engineering process, resulting in end-to-end traceability and compliance with safety standards.
You will lead efforts to define safety requirements and ensure that all systems meet these requirements throughout the development lifecycle. Your role will involve conducting safety analyses, risk assessments, and validation activities to ensure that the systems are robust and reliable. You will also be responsible for documenting safety cases and communicating findings to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
