You possess deep expertise in embedded systems and programming languages such as C++ and Python — you've worked on projects that require robust fault handling and recovery strategies, ensuring continuous operation even in the presence of faults. Your experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms enhances your ability to design scalable and reliable systems.

You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in collaborative environments — you enjoy working with cross-functional teams to establish technical frameworks that support the deployment of autonomous driving technologies. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will define and develop system requirements for Zoox’s robot platform, focusing on safety and reliability — you will work closely with hardware and firmware teams to ensure that all components meet the necessary specifications for autonomous operation. Your responsibilities will include developing strategies for fault management and recovery, ensuring that vehicles remain operational in complex environments.

You will collaborate with engineers from various disciplines to establish a comprehensive technical framework that connects component-level requirements to system-level and product-level requirements — your insights will be crucial in shaping the architecture of the autonomous driving system. You will also participate in testing and validation processes to ensure that the systems meet safety and performance standards.

Your role will involve continuous improvement of existing systems and processes, leveraging data and feedback to enhance operational capabilities — you will be expected to stay updated on industry trends and advancements in autonomous vehicle technology, integrating best practices into your work.
