Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. With over 5 years of experience in control system design, particularly in autonomous vehicles or similar fields, you possess strong expertise in Robust Control, vehicle dynamics, and systems engineering. You have practical experience with state estimation techniques such as system interference observation, system identification, and Kalman and particle filters. Your proven experience in actuator control within low-level control systems sets you apart, and you are proficient in programming languages like C++ and Python. You have worked in safety-critical environments involving real-time control systems.

Desirable

Experience with ROS/ROS2 and integration with autonomous systems is a plus. Familiarity with Model Predictive Control (MPC) and nonlinear control systems will enhance your candidacy. You have experience with industry standards and safety-critical systems in automotive or aerospace fields, and you can maintain and improve system performance under various conditions using adaptive and self-correcting control algorithms. You also have knowledge of source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methodologies, along with a track record of published research in relevant fields.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of longitudinal and lateral control systems for autonomous driving. You will oversee the design and implementation of low-level control systems that convert high-level commands into specific actuator controls for real-time autonomous driving tasks. Your responsibilities include developing and optimizing estimation algorithms for key vehicle parameters such as road incline, vehicle speed, and slip to enhance the precision and reliability of control systems. You will collaborate closely with teams focused on motion planning, behavior planning, and mission planning to ensure seamless system integration. Additionally, you will provide guidance on control architecture and system optimization while mentoring junior engineers.
