You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and maintaining data platforms. You are comfortable with hands-on coding and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions that meet business needs. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, while your familiarity with AWS and Docker ensures that you can deploy and manage applications in the cloud.

You possess strong leadership skills, enabling you to guide a team of engineers while also being a player-coach. You understand the importance of collaboration and communication, and you thrive in environments where you can mentor others and share your knowledge. You are passionate about improving data reliability and scalability, and you are always looking for innovative ways to enhance the developer experience.

Desirable

Experience with orchestration tools like Dagster is a plus, as is familiarity with building customer-facing APIs and data feeds. You have a keen interest in data quality and governance, and you are committed to implementing best practices in data management.

What you'll do

As the Data Engineering Lead at 9fin, you will own the technical roadmap for our data platform, setting the direction for the next 12 months of platform improvements. You will prioritize and deliver enhancements that focus on reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience. Your role will involve designing and delivering API-backed feeds and enrichment pipelines that contribute to product features and revenue streams.

You will also work on leveling up orchestration in Dagster, building and refining asset-based pipelines, sensors, schedules, and monitoring patterns. Your hands-on approach will ensure that the data platform is robust and capable of handling the demands of our growing client base, which includes top investment banks and asset managers.
