Overview
AbCellera is seeking a Laboratory Operations Assistant to support in vivo laboratory activities. You'll maintain lab space, prepare materials for experiments, and assist with inventory management. This role requires hands-on laboratory experience.

Who you are
You are a motivated and meticulous individual with hands-on in vivo laboratory experience. You understand the importance of maintaining a clean and organized lab environment and are conscientious about following protocols. You thrive in a collaborative setting, working alongside scientists and engineers to contribute to the discovery of therapeutic antibodies. Your attention to detail ensures that all materials are prepared accurately and efficiently, supporting the team in their scientific endeavors. You are comfortable with a Tuesday to Saturday work schedule and are eager to learn and grow in a dynamic research environment.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the lab space and restocking supplies for in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo activities. You will assist in the preparation of materials for laboratory experiments, ensuring that everything is ready for the team to conduct their research. Ordering and organizing the distribution of materials to the central lab and storage locations will be part of your daily tasks, utilizing an inventory management system to keep track of supplies. You will perform daily cage wash operations, including sterilization and disposal of both non-hazardous and hazardous waste. Additionally, you will prepare cleaned cages with sterile bedding, food, and water, ensuring that all animal care protocols are followed. Your role will also involve using laboratory glassware washers, autoclaves, and ovens to clean and sterilize laboratory glassware and other labware, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the lab.
