Overview

AbCellera is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to drive structure-guided protein engineering and affinity maturation. You'll work closely with wet-lab teams to optimize monoclonal antibody therapeutics. This role requires expertise in computational modeling and protein engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an exceptional computational scientist with a strong background in structure-guided protein engineering and affinity maturation. Your expertise lies at the intersection of high-resolution structural data and in-silico therapeutic design, and you have a proven track record of collaborating with wet-lab teams to deliver engineered molecules with measurable improvements in affinity, specificity, and developability. You engage in critical thinking and apply problem-solving skills to enable the successful transition of pre-clinical candidates to clinical assets.

You have experience designing, implementing, and evaluating in-silico protein engineering activities to support the optimization and maturation of antibody-based therapeutic assets. You are skilled at iteratively refining computational models based on real-world wet-lab data, bridging the gap between in-silico predictions and physical antibody therapeutic performance. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with teams across the company to understand engineering challenges and propose innovative solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for driving structure-guided protein engineering initiatives, focusing on monoclonal antibody therapeutics. You will design and implement computational models that support the optimization of therapeutic assets, ensuring that your work aligns with the goals of the wet-lab teams. You will prepare and author materials to educate colleagues and communicate strategies, key findings, and implications of your research.

You will also organize and support collaboration with other team members to meet project objectives. Your contributions will be critical in advancing the development of breakthrough medicines that can significantly impact patient care. You will engage in discussions about engineering challenges and actively participate in brainstorming sessions to propose effective solutions.

What we offer

At AbCellera, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to delivering breakthrough medicines to patients in need. We foster a culture of scientific rigor and encourage our team members to push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of protein engineering. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, contributing to the development of innovative therapeutic solutions.

We offer a collaborative work environment where your ideas and contributions are valued. You will have access to resources and support to help you succeed in your role and advance your career. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in the potential of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
