Who you are

You are an experienced Utilities Systems Specialist with a strong background in managing critical utilities systems, particularly in a GMP manufacturing environment. As the Chief Boiler Power Engineer, you have a deep understanding of boiler operations and compliance requirements set by Technical Safety BC. You are enthusiastic about ensuring the safe and reliable operation of utilities equipment, including boilers, chillers, and air handling units. Your technical expertise allows you to provide support as the subject matter expert for utilities systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational excellence.

You have a proven track record of performing routine maintenance and unplanned repair activities for utilities equipment, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders effectively. Your ability to monitor and respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms demonstrates your commitment to maintaining operational integrity. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with manufacturing operations, process engineering, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of utilities systems into overall facility operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and operation of all utilities equipment and systems within the GMP manufacturing facility. You will act as the primary point of contact with Technical Safety BC, ensuring all permits and compliance requirements are met. Your responsibilities will include providing technical support for boilers and process vessels, ensuring that all operations align with safety regulations and best practices. You will carry out routine maintenance and respond to unplanned outages, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing processes.

You will also be involved in major maintenance activities, overseeing the shutdown and restart of utilities systems as necessary. Your role will require you to collaborate with various technical operations functions, ensuring that all utilities systems operate efficiently and effectively. You will play a key role in the Engineering Asset Management team, contributing to the overall success of the facility's operations and the delivery of breakthrough medicines to patients in need.
