Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role focused on industrial power system design, development, and testing. Your expertise includes infrastructure design of electrical systems and experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments. You are well-versed in electric power industry standards, building codes, and safety standards including NEC, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC, and UBC.

You hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field, or possess a Professional Engineering (PE) license. With 10 years of experience in high voltage and medium voltage infrastructure design and distribution equipment, you have a strong background in switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, UPS, and emergency generation systems. Additionally, you have 5 years of experience in data center LV power distribution, including busways, bus plugs, and rack interface design.

You are capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams in hardware engineering, platforms, and server rack design to enhance server hall power distribution design. Your thirst for technology drives you to innovate and find the best ways to integrate cutting-edge strategies into electrical system architecture.

What you'll do

In this role, you will create and maintain a plan of record electrical single line and layouts that facilitate quick implementation in the field. You will develop architecture and products that will serve as the reference design for Google Data Centers. Your responsibilities include identifying and proposing innovative methods for distributing power within the data center server hall, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

You will lead the design and testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and codes. Your role will involve working closely with various teams to ensure that power distribution systems are optimized for performance and reliability. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
