AbCellera is hiring a Senior Utilities Technician to support the operations and maintenance of critical utilities systems in their GMP manufacturing facility. You'll work closely with various technical operations functions in Vancouver.

Who you are
You are an experienced utilities technician with a strong background in the operation and maintenance of critical utilities systems. You have a keen understanding of compliance and safety regulations, particularly in a GMP manufacturing environment. Your technical skills enable you to provide support to senior engineers and ensure the reliability of utilities equipment. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with manufacturing operations and engineering teams to achieve operational excellence.
You possess a proactive approach to problem-solving and are comfortable attending to alarms and monitoring systems. Your experience includes routine maintenance and planned repair activities, ensuring that all utilities systems operate smoothly and efficiently. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance in your work.
What you'll do
In this role, you will provide technical support to the Chief Boiler Power Engineer, assisting in the operation of boilers and process vessels while adhering to the Technical Safety BC regulations. You will monitor and operate all utilities equipment, including boilers, chillers, and air handling units, ensuring their safe and reliable performance. Your responsibilities will include carrying out work orders for routine maintenance and repairs through the CMMS e-system, as well as performing shutdowns and restarts of utilities systems during maintenance activities or power outages.
You will collaborate with various teams, including manufacturing operations and process engineering, to ensure that utilities systems meet operational needs. Your role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the manufacturing facility's utilities, contributing to the overall success of AbCellera's mission to develop impactful antibody-based medicines.
