Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in product management, particularly in financial services or fintech, where you've successfully led product roadmaps and collaborated with cross-functional teams. Your expertise in financial reporting and accounting processes allows you to translate complex requirements into actionable product specifications. You possess strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of compliance and audit requirements, ensuring that products meet regulatory standards. You are an effective communicator, able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment across teams. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality financial products that improve user experiences. You are adaptable and open to feedback, continuously seeking ways to enhance product offerings and drive innovation.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the financial reporting product roadmap, focusing on subledgers, standardized accounting-event interfaces, and journal-entry flows. You will work closely with engineering teams to define subledger patterns and the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface, ensuring that accounting-event schemas and API contracts are well-defined. Your responsibilities will include translating accounting policies and audit requirements into product specifications, implementing SOX controls, and developing engineering requirements that align with business objectives. You will lead the matching and reconciliation strategy, running vendor evaluations and defining reconciliation rules to automate processes effectively. Your role will also involve collaborating with data and platform teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of financial reporting tools. You will be instrumental in driving product innovation and ensuring that Affirm's financial products remain scalable and compliant.
