You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in data and AI domains — you've successfully led teams in developing machine learning and data-driven products that have a significant impact on user experience. Your background includes a strong technical foundation in software engineering, data engineering, and machine learning, allowing you to guide your team effectively through complex projects.
You excel in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with product, design, and data science teams to translate high-impact initiatives into actionable engineering tasks. You are adept at setting strategic priorities and balancing speed with quality — you understand the importance of executing against an ambitious roadmap while ensuring that your team maintains high standards in their work. What you'll do
In this role, you will lead a diverse team of engineers focused on developing cutting-edge AI and data products that enhance the Guest and Host experience on Airbnb. You will define and execute the strategy for improving the intelligence of our applications through innovative machine learning solutions. Your responsibilities will include setting priorities for your team, ensuring alignment with broader company goals, and driving the execution of high-impact projects from concept to production.
You will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data and AI in our products. This includes initiatives like AI Photo Tour and AI-driven review synthesis, where you will guide your team in building scalable solutions that meet user needs.
Your role will also involve mentoring engineers, conducting performance reviews, and supporting their professional development. You will be responsible for fostering a collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
What we offer
Airbnb offers a competitive salary range of $204,000—$255,000 USD, along with potential bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
