You have 8+ years of experience in backend engineering, focusing on building scalable systems that enhance developer experience. Your expertise includes working with cloud infrastructure and optimizing performance for high-traffic applications. You have a strong understanding of Kubernetes and have experience managing containerized applications in production environments. Your background includes designing and implementing robust APIs, ensuring they are efficient and reliable. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to help them grow. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement within the infrastructure and are comfortable leading initiatives that drive organizational impact.
Desirable
Experience with AWS services and familiarity with Docker for containerization are highly desirable. Knowledge of database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL, will be beneficial in this role. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools will also set you apart as a candidate.
What you'll do
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Airtable, you will be instrumental in enhancing our Base Infrastructure, focusing on building systems that support zero downtime failovers and optimizing performance. You will lead projects that involve overhauling our network stack and service discovery, simplifying service setup while strengthening security. Your role will also include building custom Kubernetes operators to manage critical workloads reliably. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our infrastructure scales effectively as we grow. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the infrastructure organization, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
