Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in network engineering, specifically focusing on ultra low latency environments. Your expertise includes designing and deploying network infrastructure in co-location data centers, ensuring optimal performance for trading systems. You possess outstanding knowledge of network troubleshooting tools such as Iperf/Jperf, Tcpdump, and Wireshark, which you use to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively. Your hands-on experience with various Linux-based operating systems, including Ubuntu and CentOS, enables you to manage and optimize network hardware and software efficiently. You are detail-oriented and thrive under pressure, demonstrating excellent communication skills that facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Desirable

Experience with network security hardware and software is a plus, as is familiarity with exchange and broker connectivity. A background in quantitative trading or financial markets will enhance your ability to contribute to the team’s objectives. You are proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting, which allows you to automate tasks and improve network management processes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the global trading network infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with trading systems developers to ensure that the network supports ultra low latency requirements for intraday trading and direct market access systems. Your responsibilities will include managing multiple projects related to network configuration and optimization, ensuring that all aspects of the network are functioning at peak performance. You will document network configurations and changes, providing clear guidelines for future reference and troubleshooting.

You will also be responsible for providing connectivity solutions for exchanges, brokers, and managed service providers, ensuring seamless integration and communication across the trading platform. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest networking technologies and trends, continuously seeking ways to enhance the network's performance and reliability. You will participate in team meetings to discuss network performance metrics and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
