What you'll do

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing next-generation models for supply chain systems within the Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) group. You will work closely with other scientists and engineers to map current challenges in inventory systems to scientific models, innovating solutions that utilize techniques in operations research, machine learning, statistics, and optimization.

You will analyze complex data sets to derive insights and inform decision-making processes — your work will directly influence how inventory is placed globally, impacting Amazon's long-term free cash flow. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of model development, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring that solutions are scalable and effective.

Collaboration is key in this role; you will partner with product managers and business teams to align your scientific models with business objectives. Your contributions will be visible to business leaders in SCOT, providing you with the opportunity to showcase your work and its impact on customer satisfaction.
