Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in automation and control systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining automated material handling equipment. Your expertise allows you to be the site-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building, ensuring high equipment availability for internal customers. You are motivated and customer-focused, eager to train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to elevate the team's knowledge.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with IT and engineering teams to ensure all systems are accurately documented and that backup libraries are maintained. Your proactive approach to continuous improvement projects demonstrates your commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
What you'll do
As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will actively monitor, fault find, and repair systems to maintain a high level of equipment availability. You will provide training to Engineering Technicians on device troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skill development. Your role will involve participating in or owning continuous improvement projects coordinated by the AMET Controls network, where you will enhance the capability to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and provide valuable data visualization to internal customers.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AMET Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering, to ensure that all systems are correctly documented and that accurate backup libraries are maintained. Your hands-on approach will be crucial in troubleshooting and prioritizing issues, ultimately leading to improved operational performance and customer satisfaction.
