Who you are

You have a strong background in automation engineering, with hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting control systems and sensors. Your expertise allows you to ensure that automated systems operate at peak efficiency, contributing to high equipment availability for internal customers. You are comfortable training technicians in control systems fault finding, enhancing the overall knowledge within the site. Your ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings is complemented by your understanding of IEC 61131-3 code standards, which you apply to develop improvement strategies.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams to document systems accurately and maintain backup libraries. Your proactive approach to continuous improvement projects demonstrates your commitment to enhancing the capability of monitoring Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics. You are adaptable and willing to support other sites in the AU network as required, showcasing your team-oriented mindset.

What you'll do

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will serve as the site-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building. Your primary responsibility will be to actively monitor, fault find, and repair systems to ensure high levels of equipment availability. You will participate in continuous improvement projects coordinated by the AU/EU Controls network, working alongside global teams to support the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Your role will involve troubleshooting and prioritizing MHE metrics, providing valuable visualization and data to internal customers.

You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that all systems are correctly documented and that accurate backup libraries are maintained. Your hands-on approach will be essential in training technicians, raising their level of knowledge in control systems fault finding. You will also interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, developing strategies that conform to IEC 61131-3 standards. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of Amazon's automated systems, making you a key player in the Reliability Maintenance Engineering team.
