Who you are

You have a strong background in automation engineering, with hands-on experience in maintaining and optimizing automated systems. Your expertise in controls systems and sensors allows you to ensure high-performance material handling equipment operates at peak efficiency. You are comfortable interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, which aids in troubleshooting and improving systems. You have experience training technicians in control systems fault finding, enhancing the overall knowledge within your team. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work effectively with global teams, supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Desirable

Experience with continuous improvement projects and a solid understanding of material handling equipment metrics will set you apart. Familiarity with IT systems and documentation practices is a plus, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and system optimization.

What you'll do

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will serve as the site-level Subject Matter Expert for all controls systems and sensors within the building. You will actively monitor, fault find, and repair systems to maintain high equipment availability for internal customers. Your role will involve collaborating with the AU/EU Controls network to enhance monitoring capabilities and provide valuable data visualization to stakeholders. You will participate in continuous improvement projects, working alongside IT and engineering teams to ensure accurate documentation and backup libraries are maintained. Additionally, you will support other sites in the AU network as required, contributing to a culture of excellence and reliability.
