Who you are
You have a strong background in automation and control systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and improving automated material handling equipment. You are skilled in fault finding and can effectively communicate technical concepts to others, raising the knowledge level of your team. Your expertise includes working with various control systems and sensors, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.
You have experience in training and mentoring technicians, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills for device troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. You are proactive in identifying areas for continuous improvement and are eager to participate in projects that enhance the capabilities of material handling equipment.
What you'll do
As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be the site-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the Fulfillment Center. You will actively monitor, fault find, and repair systems to maintain a high level of equipment availability for internal customers. Your role will involve training engineering technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding, thereby enhancing their troubleshooting skills.
You will collaborate with the AU/EU Controls network to improve the monitoring of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics, providing valuable data visualization to internal stakeholders. You will also participate in or lead continuous improvement projects coordinated by the AU/EU Controls network, contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.
In addition, you will work closely with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to ensure that all systems are accurately documented and that backup libraries are maintained. You will support the installation and commissioning of new equipment alongside global teams, ensuring that all processes are executed smoothly and efficiently.
