Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in automation engineering, with experience in monitoring and troubleshooting automated systems. You understand the intricacies of control systems and sensors, and you are adept at maximizing equipment availability to enhance operational efficiency. Your ability to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders is a key strength, allowing you to drive continuous improvement initiatives effectively.

You are skilled in interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, which enables you to develop improvement strategies that conform to industry standards such as IEC 61131-3. Your collaborative nature allows you to work seamlessly with various departments, ensuring that all systems are well-documented and that accurate backup libraries are maintained. You are proactive in supporting your colleagues across the EU Controls network, contributing to a culture of teamwork and shared success.

What you'll do

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be the site expert responsible for keeping key automated systems running smoothly. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and repair issues with Material Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring that all systems operate at peak performance. Your role will involve collaborating with the EU Controls network to analyze MHE metrics and provide insightful data visualizations to internal stakeholders.

You will take ownership of continuous improvement projects, actively participating in initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will also include working with global colleagues to install and commission new equipment, ensuring that all installations meet Amazon's high standards. You will interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to develop strategies for improvement, contributing to the overall success of the automation processes at your site.
