Who you are

You have extensive experience in workplace health and safety management, ideally with a focus on operations environments. Your background includes developing and implementing safety programs that prioritize employee well-being and compliance with local regulations. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to convey safety policies clearly and effectively to diverse teams.

You are adept at conducting comprehensive risk assessments and analyzing safety data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to build trust and influence change within cross-functional teams is a key strength, allowing you to foster a culture of safety and accountability.

You have a proven track record of training and mentoring safety professionals, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold safety standards at your site. Your leadership style encourages collaboration and empowers team members to take ownership of their roles in maintaining a safe work environment.

Desirable

Experience with lean principles and Kaizen events is a plus, as you will leverage these methodologies to enhance safety processes. Familiarity with ergonomic risk reduction strategies will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

In this position, you will be responsible for executing Amazon's workplace health and safety policies at your designated site. You will collaborate closely with the site operations team to ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. Your role will involve leading continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing conditional and ergonomic risks in Amazon’s processes.

You will conduct regular safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. By analyzing safety data, you will provide insights that inform decision-making and drive enhancements in safety practices.

Training operations leadership and site WHS professionals on company EHS policies will be a critical aspect of your responsibilities. You will develop training materials and conduct sessions to ensure that all team members are well-versed in safety protocols and best practices.

Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential as you provide clear and concise messages regarding safety expectations and initiatives. You will also be responsible for developing a team of safety managers and professionals, guiding their growth and success in their roles.
