What you'll do

As the Data Center Chief Engineer, you will act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues, overseeing the operation and management of critical systems that support AWS data centers. You will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment, including power distribution systems and cooling equipment, operates efficiently and reliably. Your role will involve performing root cause analysis of equipment failures and implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers and specialists to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing operational costs. This includes managing routine maintenance schedules and emergency response protocols to ensure continuous access to AWS services for customers. You will also provide training and mentorship to engineering operations technicians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in facilities management.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in strategic planning for AWS infrastructure, contributing to the design and implementation of new systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency. Your insights will be invaluable in addressing the complex challenges associated with maintaining a global infrastructure that supports millions of users.
