What you'll do

As the Data Center Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of Amazon Web Services' physical infrastructure — your responsibilities will include overseeing the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. You will ensure that all systems are operating efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of AWS.

You will lead a team of Engineering Operations Technicians, providing guidance and support as they perform their duties — your leadership will foster a culture of safety and efficiency within the data center. You will also interact with third-party vendors, ensuring that all external services align with AWS standards and expectations.

Your role will involve responding to emergencies and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime — you will be the go-to expert for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.
