You are an entry-level technician eager to start your career in data center operations. You have a foundational understanding of AWS and are excited to work with cutting-edge technology in one of the world's most advanced data centers. You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure systems. You thrive in a team environment and are ready to collaborate with experienced professionals to learn and grow in your role.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable troubleshooting facility and rack-level events. You understand the importance of adhering to internal Service Level Agreements (SLA) and are committed to ensuring the reliability and availability of data center operations. You are also capable of performing technical writing to support change management programs, demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively within the team.
Desirable
While not required, any experience with building management systems or electrical power management systems would be a plus. Familiarity with technical documentation and change management processes will also help you excel in this role. A passion for learning and evolving in the field of data center operations will set you apart.
What you'll do
In this role, you will conduct daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the 24/7 reliability and availability of the data center. You will monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS), assisting in troubleshooting any issues that arise within the facility. You will also perform rack installations and decommissioning, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the established SLAs.
You will engage in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. Your technical writing skills will be utilized to support the change management program, ensuring that all modifications are documented accurately. You will monitor daily work requests and manage them to resolution, collaborating with your team to maintain operational excellence.
