Job Description
Who you are
You are a motivated Data Engineer with a passion for building scalable financial systems. You have experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying data processes, and you thrive in an environment that encourages innovation and ownership. You understand the importance of data governance and compliance standards, ensuring high-quality data for decision-making.
You have a strong background in using AWS technologies, including S3, Redshift, Glue, and Athena, to create optimized data models and ETL processes. You are comfortable collaborating with business users to identify problems and propose innovative solutions that enhance performance and efficiency. Your analytical mindset allows you to work backwards from customer needs, ensuring that the systems you build deliver real value.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Financial Close Systems processes that streamline operations for Amazon's global Accounting and Finance teams. You will leverage your expertise in AWS tools to develop data transformations and ensure that data is well-structured and accessible. You will enforce rigorous data governance and security standards, playing a crucial role in maintaining compliance across financial systems.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business users and other engineers, to continuously innovate and improve the close process performance. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of financial operations, eliminating manual work and enhancing productivity. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of best practices in data engineering.
