You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex data platforms. You understand the intricacies of ETL processes and have experience in managing large-scale data operations that serve critical business functions.

Your ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams allows you to balance operational excellence with strategic platform evolution. What you'll do
As the Data Engineering Manager, you will lead an 8-person engineering team responsible for the ownership and technical evolution of a mission-critical enterprise analytics platform. You will oversee platform operations, ensuring system reliability and continuous improvement of the ERP system that supports over 1,600 active users across various business-critical applications. Your role will involve managing end-to-end platform health, including 24/7 incident response and production support.
You will collaborate closely with senior leadership across Finance, Merchandising, Pricing, and Supply Chain to drive technical improvements while maintaining zero disruption to business operations. Your responsibilities will include architectural evolution and strategic modernization initiatives that align with Amazon's technology standards. You will serve as the technical authority for a platform processing millions of rows of data daily through complex ETL pipelines.
In this high-visibility role, you will be accountable for systems that power month-end financial close, real-time pricing decisions, promotional planning, and executive KPIs. You will ensure business continuity for Whole Foods Market's most critical operational systems, balancing operational excellence with strategic platform evolution.
