Who you are
You have a strong background in data science with experience in applying Machine Learning and Statistics to solve complex business problems. You are proficient in Python and SQL, and you understand how to build data pipelines and perform data analysis to derive actionable insights. You thrive in interdisciplinary teams and enjoy collaborating with scientists, economists, and engineers to develop innovative solutions. You have experience with Generative AI and large language models, and you are eager to explore new technologies to enhance product offerings.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively partner with business stakeholders to frame ambiguous problems as scientific challenges. You are comfortable guiding and mentoring other scientists on their designs and implementations, raising the bar for research and prototypes within your team. You are passionate about using data to drive business impact and improve customer experiences.
What you'll do
In this role, you will investigate business problems using data and invent novel solutions that can be implemented in production. You will collaborate closely with the Selection Guidance team to apply your expertise in Machine Learning and Statistics to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies. Your responsibilities will include building data pipelines, performing data analysis, and developing prototypes that address key business challenges.
You will also review and guide the work of other scientists, ensuring high standards in research and implementation. Your contributions will directly impact Amazon's private brands, helping to shape product inputs such as title, price, and merchandising. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research areas, including named entity recognition and agentic AI, and to contribute to the development of ambitious science solutions that delight customers.
What we offer
Amazon offers a competitive salary range of CAD 109,100.00 - 182,200.00 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), and a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP).
