Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in designing and debugging embedded systems for networking applications. Your expertise spans low-speed digital logic circuits to high-speed digital interfaces, and you understand the intricacies of integrating these components into larger systems. You have a strong background in evaluating and selecting electronic components based on system requirements, ensuring that they meet performance and reliability standards.
You are proficient in developing and reviewing board schematics and optimizing board layouts for signal and power integrity. Your experience includes performing bring-up of new board designs and developing hardware test plans and automation scripts for engineering and manufacturing tests. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with RF and antenna engineers to ensure seamless integration of sensitive sub-systems without compromising performance.
You possess a solid understanding of thermal management solutions and can effectively communicate with mechanical engineers to ensure that electronic components are placed optimally within devices. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality make you a valuable asset in the process of taking hardware from prototype to mass production.
Desirable
Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction) processes is a plus, as is familiarity with manufacturing support during this phase. You are comfortable navigating export control requirements and understand the implications for your work.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and characterizing embedded systems for wired and wireless networking applications. You will own one or more electrical sub-systems within a hardware product, ensuring that they function optimally and meet all necessary specifications. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including RF and antenna engineers, to integrate sub-systems effectively.
You will evaluate and select electronic components based on system requirements, ensuring that they align with the overall design goals. Developing and reviewing board schematics will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will optimizing board layouts for signal and power integrity. You will also perform bring-up of new board designs, ensuring that they are ready for testing and production.
As part of your duties, you will develop hardware test plans and automation scripts to facilitate engineering and manufacturing tests. Your contributions will be crucial in the transition from prototype to mass production, providing engineering support to manufacturing during the NPI process. You will work closely with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing and production.
