Who you are

As an Engineering Operations Technician, you will be a critical guardian of technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You have a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles, and you are comfortable troubleshooting complex systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, keeping the digital world running smoothly and efficiently. You thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy working with various equipment, including stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling systems. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and ensuring operational excellence.

Desirable

Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services and mission-critical facilities will help you excel in this role. You are eager to learn and grow within the organization, contributing to a diverse team of engineers and specialists.

What you'll do

In this role, you will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot Data Center Operations' Mission Critical Facilities. You will work with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring they are operational and ready for use. Your responsibilities will include monitoring three-phase electrical systems such as switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. You will also be involved in maintaining cooling systems, including CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers. Your hands-on experience will be essential in diagnosing and resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists, to ensure the smooth operation of AWS data centers. Your role will require you to be detail-oriented and methodical in your approach to troubleshooting and maintenance. You will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
