Desirable
Experience with diesel generators and three-phase electrical systems is a plus. Familiarity with cooling systems and UPS technology will help you excel in this role. A background in AWS infrastructure services or data center operations will be beneficial as you navigate the challenges of maintaining high availability.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. You will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, which is essential for our global customers. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and other electrical systems to ensure seamless operations. You will also be involved in maintaining cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, to support the infrastructure's efficiency. Your role will require you to collaborate closely with software, hardware, and network engineers to address any operational challenges that arise. You will be part of a team that tackles complex problems and implements solutions that enhance our infrastructure's reliability.
